2019 Junior Career Institute
Set to Launch September 21
A career preparedness program designed for Columbia County high school juniors 
Fifteen high school students have been nominated by their school districts to participate in the 2019 Junior Career Institute, a career-preparedness geared for Columbia County high school juniors, set to run September 21 – December 5, at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Congratulations to the following students:  Sonam Verma (Chatham); Emma Flandreau and Asher Wolff (Germantown); Abida Begum, Michael Green, Hannah Konow, Ahmed Mufti, Danaya Oliver-Ragland and Finlay Turnquist (Hudson); Madison Schermerhorn, Leia Herrington, Brooke Dandridge and Shane Ringwood (Ichabod Crane); and Hannah Ball and Xavier Gomez (Taconic Hills).

The Junior Career Institute interactive sessions focus on career awareness, soft skills training and leadership development.  Successful graduates will be paired with a local business for a 6-week internship in the Spring 2020.

The 2019 Junior Career Institute is a program of CEDC in collaboration with Columbia-Greene Community College and Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, and supported by a grant from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.  Businesses and non-profits interested in participating in the program should contact Carol Wilber at 518.828.4718.
